Sarah Smith
MChiro, Doctor of Chiropractic, LRCC, MMCA, MISRM
Sarah first discovered chiropractic after suffering a low back injury whilst horse riding in her early twenties. Her journey into chiropractic then continued as a patient, runner and parent. After feeling the benefits of treatment herself and seeing how McTimoney Chiropractic immediately helped her son after he was born, Sarah was prompted to change career. After years working as a level 5 fully qualified Sports Massage Therapist at Nuffield Health in Farnham and then training at the McTimoney College near Oxford, Sarah graduated with an integrated Masters degree in Chiropractic, enabling her to practice both disciplines. After gaining extensive experience as both a Chiropractor and Sports Massage Therapist at clinics in Chobham, Farnham and Godalming in Surrey Sarah finally decided to open her own clinic Balanced Back To Health between Elstead and Thursley.
Continually seeking the best ways to help patients get better, stay well and improve their quality of life, Sarah regularly attends seminars and post-graduate training to stay current with the latest techniques and best practice. Sarah feels there is no greater reward than being able to help someone improve their quality of life, so she aims to help her patients achieve the best outcomes, reaching their treatment goals. As well as treating patients, Sarah teaches Chiropractic technique at the McTimoney College, Oxfordshire.

Abi McGuiness
MChiro, Doctor of Chiropractic, MMCA
Abi trained at the McTimoney College of Chiropractic, qualifying in 2015 with a Master’s Degree in Chiropractic. Upon graduation she was awarded the Deans prize for research, sponsored by the Royal College of Chiropractors. Keen to provide the best tailored patient care, Abi aims to stay as current as possible, regularly attending post graduate courses to advance her knowledge and stay current in diagnosis and treatment methods.
Techniques Used
Alongside McTimoney Chiropractic technique, Abi uses joint mobilisation techniques, Neuro Muscular soft tissue technique, Medical Acupuncture, and has a particular interest in pain science. She is also qualified to perform the Epley Manoeuvre (the gold standard technique for the treatment of Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo, BPPV).
As passionate about relieving symptoms and restoring function in animals as she is in people, in 2017 Abi undertook further study with the International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic (IAVC) at The Anglo European College of Chiropractic (AECC). This has enabled her to work with large and small animals and allows us to provide a small animal clinic at Balanced Back 2 Health on Fridays.
Professional Bodies
Abi is registered with the General Chiropractic Council and International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractors and is a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association.
Outside of work Abi enjoy various hobbies, mostly outdoors, and can often be found DIY'ing, gardening or hiking across the countryside trying to tame her unruly Whippet Hugo!
Sylvie Potts
Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist
We are delighted to announce that we have a wonderful massage therapist, Sylvie, joining the team at Balanced Back 2 Health offering treatments on Tuesdays from mid September.
Sylvie is a Jing Method Advanced Clinical Massage Therapist, qualified to treat musculoskeletal pain conditions, including low back pain, neck pain, migraines, whiplash and many other ongoing injury or pain conditions. You can of course also have treatments with Sylvie if you don’t have any issues but would like beneficial ‘me’ time and preventative care.
Sylvie uses a blend of Eastern and Western techniques including fascial work, trigger point work, acupressure and stretching. She uses a warm, heart centred and intuitive approach that takes into account your physical and emotional well-being. As part of your first appointment, you will always have a full consultation, which enables Sylvie to create a bespoke treatment to meet your personal needs. Sylvie loves the great outdoors, cycles and hikes but can also be found indoors creating beautiful sounds playing gongs.
